Latonya loves bringing people, ideas, and systems together to make great things happen. She has worn many hats since joining the McDonnell Academy in 2017—managing projects, creating marketing content, keeping tech systems running smoothly, and helping applicants navigate the admissions process. Latonya’s journey, shaped by her experiences while living and working in various cities across the United States and across different industries, has equipped her with a versatile skill set well-suited to her role at McDonnell Academy.

She studied Management Information Systems at the University of Memphis and earned her B.S in Communications at WashU.

As a Program Coordinator at the McDonnell Academy, Latonya manages and supports projects across admissions, marketing, communications, IT, graduate student program initiatives, and events always aiming to keep things on track and make the process easier for everyone involved. She especially enjoys the mix of big-picture planning and the small details that make it all work.

Latonya’s career has been deeply enriched by the wonderfully diverse range of people, ideas, and perspectives. She enjoys collaborating with others to create innovative solutions and foster inclusive environments.

In addition, Latonya currently serves as board treasurer for the Eastern Missouri Alliance for Clean Transportation (EM-ACT). Here, she shares her knowledge to support community engagement and educational initiatives focused on sustainability.

Outside of her professional life, Latonya enjoys a variety of hobbies, including cooking, gardening, furniture restoration, traveling, reading, and learning new things. Her newest hobby is learning to play the piano. These activities continually enrich her life and provide her with new and exciting ways to express her creativity.
