The Hongmosoomin Foundation, established by the family of the late Mr. Song Ja to honor his legacy and lifelong commitment to education, supports the Song Ja Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. In recognition of the transformative impact WashU had on Mr. Song—one of the first Korean students to attend the university in the early 1960s—his wife, Soonhi Song, and daughters, Grace Song Park and Jean Song, pledged $1 million through the Foundation to endow this fellowship.
Administered through the McDonnell International Scholars Academy, the Song Ja Fellowship supports graduates of Yonsei and other South Korean universities as they pursue advanced degrees at WashU and prepare for global leadership. The Hongmosoomin Foundation’s generous investment reflects its dedication to expanding international education and cross-cultural understanding.
