Comprised of McDonnell Scholars from a variety of cohorts and disciplines, the McDonnell Academy Panel of Scholars (MAPS) is a student-led group dedicated to connecting McDonnell Scholars, represent their voices, and enhance their experiences within the McDonnell Academy.

Connecting Minds, Building Community
Emphasizing a scholar-centered philosophy and the specific needs of its members, the MAPS aim to:
- Strengthen Community Connections – Organize social events through which scholars can relax, share meals, and enjoy each other’s company—strengthening our community.
- Promote Cross-Disciplinary Dialogue on Global Issues – Each year, MAPS curates a dynamic panel discussion featuring faculty experts from diverse disciplines, addressing a pressing global issue and sparking meaningful conversations.
- Build Community – Foster connections across cohorts, cultures, and disciplines through teamwork, collaborative planning, and shared discussions.
- Voice Scholar Interests – Cultivate a supportive environment that voices Scholars’ interests and feedback to McDonnell Academy leadership, shaping initiatives, addressing concerns, and promoting an enriching experience.

MAPS Panel on Reproductive Rights provides insight
McDonnell Scholars and guests gathered to discuss reproductive justice from gendered, legal, medical, and religious perspectives. Moderated by Stephanie Kirk, Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, the panel featured a group of experts from diverse academic backgrounds.
