Betsy Cohen is a Philanthropic Futurist at FutureGood, a consultancy that helps foundations, nonprofits, wealth advisors and visionary leaders develop plans for better future outcomes. FutureGood partners with clients to envision their ideal future, craft actionable strategies, and address emerging challenges using expert futurism tools and practices. The company emphasizes the importance of future thinking for sustaining relevance and driving positive change.
Betsy earned her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. As the prior Executive Director of the St. Louis Mosaic Project, she spent more than a decade leading efforts to attract and retain international talent in the St. Louis region. Under her leadership, the Mosaic Project fostered partnerships across businesses, universities, faith organizations, and government entities, reaching the goal of making St. Louis the fastest-growing metropolitan region for foreign-born residents by 2025.
She had an extensive corporate career in marketing at Nestle Purina before leading the St. Louis Mosaic Project. She is on the advisory boards for the St. Louis University Chaifetz School of Business and the Washington University McDonnell International Scholars Academy, and she is a subdistrict commissioner for the Missouri Botanical Garden. She was recognized as a Most Influential Businesswoman by the St. Louis Business Journal and as a Woman Business Leader by the YWCA. She has been recognized as a civic leader by NCCJ, Vitendo4Africa, Casa de Salud, St. Louis Asian American Chamber of Commerce and the International Institute of St. Louis. In 2024, she was one of the 500 top business leaders listed by St. Louis Magazine. She is the author of a book that helps international people who are authorized to work in the US to find good employment. She was a TEDx speaker in 2023.
Betsy and her husband Dr. Bruce Cohen have two grown sons who live with their families in Atlanta and Chicago.
