Bowen is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at WashU, studying American politics, formal theory, and methodology. At Washington University, he is supported by the McDonnell International Scholars Academy Fellowship. He principally studies how accountability, representation, and information on political performance interact in Western democracies.
Prior to WashU, Bowen worked in finance as a Quantitative Research Analyst. He holds an AM from the University of Chicago, and a BCom in Economics and a BA in History, Politics, and International Relations from the University of Auckland. He is originally from Aotearoa, New Zealand.
In his free time, Bowen enjoys playing poker, going hiking, watching ice hockey (go Wolves), and caring for the environment.
