“Unity is strength…where there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” – Mattie Stepanek
This quote perfectly reflects how I approach working with the incredible team at the McDonnell International Scholars Academy, our WashU colleagues, and—most importantly—the amazing graduate students we serve. For nearly two decades, I’ve had the privilege of helping the Academy grow and thrive. In my multi-faceted managerial role, I oversee daily business and financial operations, collaborate and strategize with leadership to set priorities, and develop programming and initiatives that reflect our three pillars: global mindset, leadership, and community.
What I love most about my work is the ability to really help people and build genuine, lasting partnerships while cultivating a vibrant, multi-cultural community. I’m passionate about creating experiences that have an impact and will inspire and empower the McDonnell Scholars beyond their time at WashU. As a WashU student, this was important to me, and I’m thrilled to support and encourage others in the same way.
I am a lifelong St. Louisan, and I love giving back to my hometown! I serve on the boards of two nonprofit organizations, championing causes close to my heart—preserving the region’s historic cultural sites and landmarks, and enriching the educational experiences of middle school students in my local school district.
People often ask me, “Do you ever have any spare time?” Honestly, I ask myself the same thing! But I believe that where there’s motivation, there’s always motion. I enjoy music, cooking, traveling, growing in my interior design/decorating skills, and exploring new creative outlets, but I derive the most pleasure and gratitude from celebrating life’s special moments with the best family in the world.
