Sarah Owusu Sachie graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Ghana. After graduation, she served as a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Biomedical Engineering there. In 2024, she was selected as a McKelvey International Summer Research Intern at Washington University in St. Louis, where she collaborated with Professor Lori Setton to investigate intra-articular drug delivery for musculoskeletal disorders. Her research focused on identifying factors that influence solute diffusion through the human synovium.

Currently, Sarah is pursuing a PhD in biomedical engineering at WashU. Her research interests encompass drug delivery and musculoskeletal biomechanics with a specific focus on developing innovative therapies for joint diseases such as osteoarthritis, particularly in resource-constrained settings.

In her free time, Sarah likes to take long walks, journal when she can, and figure out dinner without a recipe; sometimes it’s a hit, and sometimes it’s just food.
