Shinghei David Mok was born and raised in Hong Kong, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from The University of Hong Kong. During his undergraduate studies, he developed a strong interest in quantitative, high-throughput approaches to biomedical research. This led him to pursue a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at WashU, where he also worked as a Bioinformatician in a neurosurgery lab studying brain tumors between his studies. He is currently a PhD student in Computational and Systems Biology, focusing on leveraging multi-omics and spatial context to investigate the role of neuroimmunology in Alzheimer’s disease.
