On November 21, 2025, the McDonnell Academy had the honor of hosting Professor Uriel Reichman, the visionary founder of Reichman University, for an engaging session of Lunch with a Leader. The event spotlighted Reichman’s remarkable journey in establishing the only private university in Israel, a long-standing partner of the McDonnell Academy.

Reichman captivated the audience with insights on the development of Reichman University, emphasizing a few of the institution’s foundational principles — leadership, interdisciplinary education, and international collaboration, which resonate with the Academy’s mission. He shared his entrepreneurial spirit and the challenges he faced in creating a private university against all odds.

An important highlight of the event was the consideration of future collaboration between Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) and Reichman University. Discussions revealed plans for a joint degree program, offering undergraduates the unique opportunity to study at Reichman University, earn their undergraduate degree, and then return to WashU to complete their master’s degree.
